And no, it is not a robot taxi – this time a real driver will drive the vehicle.

Recently, Elon Musk claimed that Tesla is preparing to launch robot taxi in some markets, including Bay Area. But the regulators of California clearly stated that Tesla does not have any permit that allows them to run autonomous vehicles.

So Tesla is currently starting a premium choffer service in which humans will be the driver and the car will run in a non-literary manner. That is, the car will be of Tesla – full of technology – but an experienced driver will sit on the steering.

🤖 Why not self-driving?

Alphabet’s Waymo (Waymo) has achieved permission for robot taxi service after 9 years of hard work and millions of kilometers of testing. At the same time, Tesla is still running a trial run in the city of Austin, Texas, where the driving software in the car drives the car, but a person is sitting as a monitor.

In California, Tesla is currently allowed to offer non-late services with only humans driver. This robot can be called a ‘Tech-Sported Private Driving Service’, not a taxi.
